Simon Says … Tag It!!!!!

Hello, it is me again …. shock horror!!!! This time it is for Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog …… our theme this week is Tag It and the Design Team are all using products by Tim Holtz ….. Lord and Master to many of you I know, lol.

I really tried lots of new things this week. First of all I have coloured on Kraft …. OMG are you seeing this Sheila!!!!! How long have you been nagging me to try it rofl.

I have coloured my image using my Prismacolor pencils – oh boy, that took me back to my time before Copics ….. very different not using a white background I can tell you!

Considering I am not hugely influenced by Tim Holtz I was amazed just how many of his products I had, looks like maybe he does influence me a little bit without me even realising it.

A huge thankyou to Heidi for once again giving one lucky entry a $50 spending spree at Simon Says Stamp Online Store.

The Paper Shelter: Winter Blues …. My first DT card!!

Morning guys, what an exciting day it is for me – I am thrilled to have my very first card to share with you all for The Paper Shelter Challenge Blog. There are a few other newbies on Team A too so I hope you pop over and give them all a big welcome too.

Our theme this week is Winter Blues. I am glad to say it is finally getting a bit milder here and the last snow melted yesterday. I am sure there will be a few more cold days before Spring arrives though.

I have used this beautiful image called ‘A. Mucha Influence – Winter’ and I think she is so pretty and was a dream to colour with my copics. The sentiment is by Whiff of Joy and I think I have had it forever. I tried something new on this card and I am pleased with how it turned out – I inked up my little flourish stamps with 2 different inks, blue and brown, and stamped them around the edges of the image. I think it helps tie the papers in nicely with the stamp. I will certainly try it again.

I love all the faces on the gorgeous images by The Paper Shelter – they are just so sweet.

To complete my card I have used flowers, lace and pearls from Wild Orchid Crafts – just had a delivery of new stash – woop woop, lol.

Hi everyone, ooh I am so excited to be able to bring you some fabulous candy. I have just had an email from Sara at Crafter's Companion offering one lucky winner a signed copy of the brand new Spectrum Noir DVD. It is going to be launched as Pick of the Day tonight on Ideal World at 9pm. The DVD will be signed by both Sara Davies and Leann Chivers so it really is a must have for all you Crafter's Companion fans.

Good evening guys …. well it is your resident blonde here. Oh yes, I have really done it this time. I am here with my DT card for Sundays with Crissy where our theme is Birthdays! Now you may notice that my card looks more like a Valentines’ card and who could blame you. All I can say is I have been on nights for the past 2 weeks and I didn’t check what the theme was before I made my card. I think I just got so excited at this gorgeous ‘Cute Cupid’ digi by Crissy and just had to get all inky!

Isn’t he adorable!!!!! All I can say is that I love my hubster every single day and therefore it is more than suitable for his birthday card …. honest <3

I have coloured my image with my trusty copics and added just a little stickles to his wings ….. even cherubs need a little bling!

A little bling to the flowers too which are from Wild Orchid Crafts – ordered a load more last night …. love their pearls and blooms.

I’ve had an Epiphany …..

…… or should I say I have got an Epiphany! That’s right, one of the fabulous new tools which is now available from Crafter’s Companion. So what is all the fuss about – well I have to be honest and say I thought the same thing – until I got one!!! OMG I love it. Basically there are different shaped punches which you can create your own embellishments with. You place your card etc that you want, add an epoxy sticker over the top and then press the tool. Out pops a fab embellie. There are beautiful extras to place these into such as flowers and charms which are all gorgeous. You can view them all here on the Crafter’s Companion Website. You can also view the launch on Sunday on Create and Craft TV.

Here is a sample I made using one of the beautiful Flower Fairy stamps. The papers are from the Fairyopolis CD-Rom.

Here is my epiphany embellishment placed inside a flower centre, made from the backing paper to coordinate perfectly ….. all products are below on picture links so just click the pic to be taken to the page on the website for further details on that product.

Crafter’s Companion Monthly Challenge

Good afternoon,here I am a little later than planned with this months card for Crafter’s Companion Challenge Blog. Our theme this month is Anything Goes and there is a £30 gift voucher to spend online at Crafter’s Companion if you win!

I have used one of the gorgeous SWALK Winter Cheer stamps and the papers are from the coordinating CD-Rom. I love these images because they are perfect for winter birthdays etc. The sentiment is a fie cut message from Craftwork Cards – I use loads of the little sentiments, they are so handy and cover so many occassions.

I will be back later this week for some more cards showing you the brand new tool that Crafter’s Companion will be stocking. It is the Epiphany tool and it is blumming fab!!!! Simon Says … Love is in the Air

Hi folks, how are you all? Half way through the week for most and half way though this set of night shifts for me! Just a quick post today because I really need my sleep and cannot wait to get into bed.

The design team are all using scrummy products from Prima …… delish!!!! Can we also welcome the wonderful Jacqui (Cat’s Whiskers) to our design team – I am so happy that she has joined us!!!!

I haven’t used this stamp in ages – I do love her so much and it is always great colouring her with different colours. She is so beautiful.

I still like using stickles as a ‘floor’ for my images to sit on, just love the sparkle from Startdust Stickles – perfect for fairy wings too!

How lush is the Prima lace and pearl detail – link is below for this – sticks like a dream and so simple to use …. I must get more of this for my stash, loving it.

Hiya, I am back again with MSMS ..... sorry for being AWOL last week - was at work all day then I went straight out from there. Lack of organisation meant we had an unexpected week off but I am raring to go again this week.

I had my choice picked already but then I had to change it last minute when I saw the new Madonna video - OMG she looks AMAZING!!!!!!!! She sure shows how to look fabulous in your fifties ....... jealous.com!

Wow!!!!!! I think this is the beast she has been for a while - she sure gets my vote, can't believe I have loved her since I was a teenager and she is still going strong!

Morning folks, looks like a slightly better day than yesterday so far….. definately drier anyway. A day off for me so I am going to do a bit of crating and I might nip out later for a mooch around the shops, will see how I feel after lunch.

Pink and black is a really great combo, really need to use it more often.

I am still trying my dot thing around the edges of the image – quite liking it now I am not quite as dotty!!

Music Saves My Soul Saturday

Hiya, sorry I am a bit late with this weeks song choice but I am having a lazy day and am only just getting round to my post. I still need to visit you all from last week so that is the next thing to do so it shouldn't be long until I am listening to your tunes.

I really wanted to play this song all week even though I have been having a real trip down memeory lane the past couple of days. I have been listening to all the 'Now that's what I call music' albums right from the beginning. I am really enjoying it and have rediscovered some brilliant songs. Imight pop one on the end just to be cheeky lol.

Here is my choice for this week, you really must turn the volume up full blast!!!

Oooh, I just love it - what a fab beat! Great to see Mick Jagger too, how funky lol. How good does J Lo look, life is so unfair, sigh.

Simon Says …. Use Domi’s Sketch

Morning lovely blog people ….. how are you all today? Not as cold I hope!!! I have a day off today so I am going to head off to the gym shortly and then catch up with a few things and finally fit a little crafting in.

We have a really gorgeous sketch for you this week by Domi, our lovely teamie. The thing I love about sketches are that they really help you with inspiration with pulling your card together. The other thing I love is looking at how other crafters have interpreted the sketch. The DT have some great examples for you over on Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog.

I am so happy with my card this week. I pulled a load of my old stash out to make this and even got the distress inks out!!!!!

I have been playing with different colours this week and I am pleased with how my image turned out. Usually I am not that happy so I am just going to try and like what I do a bit more in future. I wanted my Miss Anya to have beautiful auburn hair because this card is for my sister – she has amazing auburn hair.

Strawberry kisses …… Little Miss + Spectrum Noirs back in stock!!!

Howdy doody, well it is Saturday night and I am sat at home instead of being out on the town … oh deary me! When both my hubby and I work shifts it does make it tricky to get a weekend off together but never mind, hopefully it won’t be too long before we can get out. In the meantime I have my stamps and pens to play with …. not a bad alternative!

I have spotted lots of Strawberry Kisses around blogland already – aren’t they just the sweetest images! Crafter’s Companion have really excelled themselves again haven’t they!

I love Snow (the cute little kitty) and I think Sally Hunter is just a remarkable artist – she manages to get such wonderful expressions from her characters. I love this stamp and the next time I use it I am going to paper piece the bag to make it a lovely funky bag I think.

The papers have been printed from the matching papercraft CD-ROM and I swear it is crammed full of gorgeous designs and templates – a real must have!

Great news too about Spectrum Noir pens – they are back in stock so make sure you grab yours if you have been waiting to get them or to complete your collection! There is also a brand new dvd coming out showing lots of hints and tips for using these fabulous pens …. here is a little clip to wet your appetite…..

Good morning, half way through the week already, where is it going???? Hope you are having a nice week so far. I am enjoying my week off work and I am catching up with friends and things like that so it is a real treat. I am also venturing back to the gym – new year and all that, lol.

Hi there, this is late for me to be posting but I thought I would give you all a little reminder about the Crafter’s Companion Monthly Challenge Blog …… our theme is ‘Love is in the Air’ so why don’t you get a head start on those Valentine’s Day cards!

I have used the fabulous Winter Cheer SWALK CD-Rom and stamp …. this stamp is called ‘Love You’ and is a winter take on the classic SWALK couple. This set of stamps is great all winter and they are so versatile. It is lovely having stamps that can be used all winter and not just for christmas.

I am really proud because this is one of the cards I had featured in this months Papercrafts Essentials (issue 74). I made 7 cards showcasing the fab SWALK ‘Winter Cheer’ and one even made the front cover :o)

My little moment is over, ooh I was so proud to have been asked by Sara to do this and even more surprised with the cover!

Anyway, enough of all that nonsense, back to the job in hand. Get your bums over to the challenge blog and take part – there is a fab prize up for grabs but you have to go and find out what it is yourself lol ….. well, I can’t make it too easy can I!!!!

I had a fab day today. I went to see my Mother-in-Law and we had a crafty day. I am trying to convert her into a stamper. Armed with my Spectrum Noirs and stamped images I headed over there. We had a great day and talked more than coloured but I think there may be a chance that we have a new stamper on the block. She has already bought a few sets of speccies and has told me she is going to sit and colour all night. I am so excited. I will be going again soon for a more productive day so I may even take my camera nd get some evidence to share with you all.

Right, off to watch a spot of telly and soak in a huge bibble bath (or a bubble bath as my lovely little Squirrel likes to call them, nuts she is!!!) ….. not at the same time, don’t have that luxery I am afraid.

This picture shows up the sparkle brilliantly. I used a can of Spray & Sparkle in Silver to add some bling … and boy does it sparkle in real life. I actually have a pair of shoes very similar in real life although I am not as lucky to own a pair of Louboutins hehe.

Here are the inspirational shoes that I am wearing … along with a rather hideous face that I am pulling – what on earth am I doing?????? Sigh!

Strawberry Kisses – Flower Power!

Hi there, not long now until the launch tomorrow on Create and Craft TV at midday for the beautiful Strawberry Kisses range!! We are all so excited at Crafter’s Companion about this latest release because the images are just so cute. The CD-Rom is crammed full of pretty papers with some really stunning designs. I am in love with it so much and know you will all be as soon as you see the shows. I hope you have been enjoying the sneak peeks from the Design Team. So onto another of my sneak peeks …….. how adorable is this stamp!!!!!!!

I have to admit this image is one of my favourites, but then again I love them all so it is such a hard choice to only pick one favourite.

Remember also that the sentiment comes with the main image which means even better value for you!

As usual I have stamped onto Neenah card and coloured with my Spectrum Noir pens. I really like adding the grass to my images now and am going to do this a lot more often in the future. It is so easy to do and finishes it nicely.

I have matted and layered using the scrummy Core’dinations card and also used it to punch out the butterfly ….. it has a really great texture to it and is still beautiful when it hasn’t been sanded.

Oooh here we are …….. a brand new challenge for all you Lili of the Valley fans with a brand new Design Team. How exciting!!! I adore LOTV stamps so I am so pleased we still have somewhere to come and play and share our creations.

Our first challenge is New Beginnings, a popular theme so lets hope lots of you join in!

My card today just seemed to make itself and gave me a little bit of my mojo back at long last. I know I have neglected my blog recently and I am so grateful for those of you who still visit me so thankyou.

Therefore I am using this card as a new beginning for me! Plus, I am also going to spend a bit more time looking after myself this year. I seem to look after everyone else and worry about them but this year I am allowing some of that time for myself – indulgent but hey, I am worth it ….. right????

Hello and welcome to my turn on Sunday's with Crissy. I hope you are all managing to keep warm and are enjoying the build up to the festive season. Our theme this month is nice and easy ....... ANYTHING GOES. All you need to do is use one of Crissy's images - either digis or rubber stamps are fine, just be creative and have fun.

I have used this beautiful digi which is called Touched by Love and is available from Whimsy Stamps. Apologies for the dark picture - I will take a new one in the morning and replace it on here for you all.

I have cut up a bit more of that gold mesh I found, I love it … it is going to be on so many of my cards, lol. Dug out my charms too – not used these in ages but might get back into using them. Think I need to have a good sort out of my stash, I have no idea what I have anymore, there is just so much now.

A closer look at the gorgeous image ...... she was such a joy to colour. I have been trying new colours for hair and I am quite pleased with how this turned out. She took ages to colour but I am happy with the results so that is all that counts isn’t it.

I have made an A5 card so it is quite large for me. Have you seen the Pick of the Week on Create and Craft ….. Crafter’s Companion have some fab products to help you make enveloboxes and boxes up to 12 x 12 in size – OMG I think we all need one don’t you!!!!!

Music Saves My Soul Saturday

Hiya, hope you are all having a really nice weekend so far. I have been chilling and doing a bit of colouring etc so it has been really nice. Ryan has also popped home until tomorrow morning so it is nice to see him for a few hours.

It is the X Factor final tonight here in the UK and it has been an interesting series but not as good as recent years. Having said that there are 3 good acts in the final so who knows who will win. Great to see a girl group in the final at long last - well done Little Mix!!!!

I wondered what to share with you all this week on Music Saves My Soul and in the end I decided on one of the most amazing performance I have watched on X Factor - just watching it again really touched me - Alexandra's face throughout the performance is just so special to watch and you can really see how much it means to her being able to perform with Beyonce. I am certain this performance helped her win the series.

Good morning my lovelies, what a sad day it is today. This is the very last time we will be bringing you a challenge from the Lili of the Valley Challenge Blog. I only found out last week that Lili of the Valley no longer wanted to continue the challenge blog and I am just gutted. I have been on the team for years, way before the cute rubber stamps were around and I have always been so proud to be on the team. Jacqui is starting a new challenge blog called Lili’s Little Fairies in place of this challenge so you can still use your stamps to make gorgeous cards and share them with us all.

Anyway, it is with a heavy heart that I bring you my very last card for Lili of the Valley

I used my speccies to colour the background – they are perfect for this and leave no streaks at all, seamless!!

Simon Says … Christmas Photomontage Inspiration

Hi guys, well Wednesday already which means I am half way though my week off – how time flies!!!! It is also time for a brand new challenge on Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog. Pop over for a peep because we have a great photo montage for your inspiration.

Here is my little offering and I must say that this is one of my all time favourite stamps. It is by Gillian Roberts and is just so sweet (full links below).

I have tried to make the fur a little more textured using little dots with my copics and I am quite pleased with how it turned out really.

A closer look at my card. Here you can see the yummy Magnolia papers that I have layered and punched. The gold mesh is actually from a huge piece of fabric I have had sat in my craft box for ever. I suddenly had the brainwave of chopping it up and using it as ribbon – not sure why it has taken me this long to think of it lol but I love it! I have a load in silver too so expect to see a lot more on my cards in the future.

Another card that is very different for me – no cute little characters but it is good to try something else. I was thinking that I could have masked a little character next to this and that would have been nice so I might do that another time. Can I just say how fab these stamps are – they are already mounted onto ezimount and the stamp sheet is die cut so you just pop your stamp out and you are good to go – genius!!!

Afternoon to you all, OMG I have just got up after my last night shift. Had a much longer sleep than I planned so I hope I sleep tonight – I am sure I will. Days off for me now so I have xome time planned with my family plus lots of crafty time just for me too!!!!

Hi there folks, almost finished my night shifts …. one more to do so so I am going to go and snuggle in bed for the day whilst you are all busy doing your work and crafting. I will have a few days off after this so looking forward to that :o)

This week on Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog we have a photo to inspire you. As soon as I saw it I knew which stamp I wanted to use. You can use it for inspiration in any way though – even using the colours if you want to.

As you can see though I have used poppies as my inspiration – I am developing a little crush on these House Mouse stamps and I think I might be ordering a few more in the future. They are so cute and really easy to colour too. I know my fellow teamie Lols has a bit of an addiction going on with these little guys and now I know why! I am also totally hooked on Kaiser Craft papers ….. You can’t really tell in this picture but the red paper is glazed. Their packs usually come with glazed, foiled and glittered papers and usually some die cut matching borders too – I love them big time!!!!

Morning, yes I know it is Monday and I am 2 days late but I hope you don't mind and still play along. Yep, time for Music Saves My Soul!!

A couple of weeks ago I put up a song to say goodbye to Westlife so this week I thought I would say hello to a group which has recently reformed. Oh yes, hello again to Steps!!!! I have to secretly admit to loving Steps - I even saw them in concert, lol. I just love the upbeat tunes even if they are cheesy - I don't care!!!!!

I was in HMV the other day and they were playing Steps - it was so odd to hear them again but it certainly put me in a great mood for my shopping trip.

Good morning, Wednesday already …… I am at work later but just a short shift today – never thought I would describe an 8 hour shift as that, lol … how times have changed!!!!! A couple of days off after that though, so I should catch up with a bit of DT work and then …… Ryan is home for the weekend :o)

I won’t get to see him much though because I am working and he has a CD recording but at it will be nice to see him even if it is only for a little while.

Before I move onto this weeks card for Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog can I just say a huge thankyou to all of you who entered last weeks challenge – over 1000 entries, that is amazing!!!!!

My card is made using the super cute Humphrey’s Corner die cut decoupage which is so quick and easy to use. I have also used the Collall Glue Gel which is perfect for decoupage and gives fab dimension and no horrid smell like some other glues can.

Hi there - how is your weekend???? I am loving having a whole weekend off for a change. I have been very naughty this week though and got totally confused with my days. This meant I was late with my DT card for LOTV challenge. The good news though is that it means I have been able to use a brand new image from LOTV on my card.

I was so excited when I saw all the new stamps which are coming out next month .... you are going to LOVE them sooooooooo much, I promise!!!! All of the stamps will be available at the Hobbycrafts show from Thursday but if you are wanting to order them online you will need to wait until the 10th of November ..... what torture!!!!!!

I have used the sketch from this weeks challenge on Lili of the Valley (so very late, sorry Mummy Fairy) and I have used one of the new stamps. This little lady is called Summer and is a new character for LOTV drawn by Molly Harrison. The stamp is called 'My Best Friend'and is just so adorable.

The sentiment stamp also comes with the stamp so a great little set I am sure you will agree!

Hiya, well I am half way through my nights and I have to say I am getting more used to shift work which is a blessing because I am now able to sleep during the day – thank goodness! Still loving my new job and the people that I work with.

Here is my little offering this week for Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog – the theme is anything goes so a nice easy one for you. The Design Team are all using products by Bo Bunny and Studio Calico this week so check the blog for inspiration and links to lots of gorgeous products.

I decided to make a box for a card I made a few weeks ago. I just adore these Bo Bunny Papers – they are so pretty. I think that decorating the box is really completing the card and makes it look so much nicer when you give the card. I often find they love the box just as much as the card.

Hi folks, hope you are enjoying the lovely autumn weather today - it is gorgeous here. Hubby and I are going for a little wander round York then will probably have a bit to eat and sneaky drink by the river.

I could only really play music by one group this week ..... how sad are we to hear that Westlife are splitting up and calling it a day - I just love them .... the key change and standing and walking to the front of the stage right on cue - ahhhh you can't beat a good old boy band can you!!
